Daily Itinerary
The Classic Coast & Mountains Route
We kick off our tour from Playa del Inglés, immediately diving into the winding coastal roads that lead to the village of Mogán. The real adventure begins just past town, as the road starts a thrilling ascent. Each bend serves up a new challenge and reveals even more impressive views of Gran Canaria's dramatic terrain. It's a powerful start that sets the tone for the entire journey.
Our route then leads us to Aldea de San Nicolás, a timeless corner of the island that feels a world away from the resorts. This is a genuine fishing village, where the low-key beach and authentic, old-style Canarian charm invite us to pause for a well-earned coffee and a local bocadillo. It's a perfect chance to soak in the tranquil atmosphere before we continue on. Next, we wind our way upward toward the northwest and the legendary GC-200, famously known as the Dragon Road. This iconic stretch is a crown jewel of any guided motorcycle tour here, serving equal parts adrenaline and awe as it clings to the cliffs high above the ocean.
From the coast, we climb into the island's rugged interior. The road, recently resurfaced with smooth new tarmac, fills you with confidence to lean into the countless hairpin turns. It's a definite highlight, pairing a fantastic technical ride with sweeping mountain panoramas around every corner.
The grand finale is an unforgettable descent from the island's summit down to the south. We navigate a thrilling series of switchbacks and flowing curves down toward the picturesque village of Fataga. The final kilometers back to our start are a brilliant reminder of why this island is considered one of the most diverse and exhilarating motorcycle destinations in the Canaries.
South to North The Epic Island Traverse route
Prepare yourself for an epic ride that’s as much about the journey as the destination. We kick off day 2 by revving our engines and heading north through Ingenio. The ride starts easy, with wide, smooth turns that make you feel like you’re slicing through the air. But don’t get too comfortable—things are about to get interesting.
As we turn inland, the road starts to climb and so does your adrenaline. With every twist and turn, the views expand until you’re staring at a panorama that stretches from the bustling city of Las Palmas to the serene southern coast, with the vast ocean as your backdrop. This is the kind of ride where you’re torn between focusing on the road and getting lost in the scenery.
Our ascent brings us to the legendary Pico de las Nieves, the island’s highest point and a must-visit for any serious rider. Here, we’ll take a well-earned break, chat with a local "abuelo" (who’s been perfecting his bocadillos with a love only years of practice can bring) and soak in the jaw-dropping views of Roque Nublo and Roque Bentayga. Trust us, it doesn’t get more Gran Canaria than this.
After fueling up on both food and the sheer awesomeness of the landscape, we descend towards Gáldar, only to turn our bikes back up into the mountains on a different route. Suddenly, it’s like you’ve been transported to another world. The landscape shifts from rugged island terrain to something straight out of Scotland or Ireland, with lush greenery as far as the eye can see. This is the greener side of Gran Canaria, where the island’s hidden beauty really comes to life.
Once again, we begin our descent toward the south, but this time via a completely new route. This road offers a fresh set of perspectives, including heart-stopping vistas of the deep canyons falling away below and the vast Atlantic Ocean stretching out ahead. Returning to Playa del Inglés from this direction truly reveals a different side of the island's character.
East & North Slopes The Ultimate Island Loop
We launch our third day from Playa del Inglés, heading east towards Vecindario with the morning sun ahead and the promise of the open road. The ride begins as a smooth coastal cruise before we swing inland—where the authentic adventure starts.
The climb towards Santa Lucía is where the road truly comes alive, twisting upward and revealing stunning vistas with every turn. Just as you find your rhythm, we take a sharp right-hand turn, passing the distinctive domes of the southern observatory. The tarmac here is a rider's dream: a series of sweeping, flowing curves that let you lean in and fully connect with the bike. The ensuing descent toward the ocean is spectacular, with the shimmering blue expanse of the Atlantic guiding us down.
But this ride is all about contrasts. No sooner have we reached the coast than we turn back inland for another climb. This one is more challenging, a technical ascent where each hairpin reveals another layer of the island's rugged interior. We’ll pause at the summit to take in the breathtaking panoramic views, where the island's highest peaks meet an endless sky. From there, we enjoy a thrilling descent to the legendary biker’s hub of Cruz de Tejeda. It’s the perfect spot to grab a coffee, relax and watch the world—and other riders—go by, sharing stories from the road. Refreshed, we press on through the picturesque villages of Terror, Firgas, Valleseco and even Las Vegas—yes, Gran Canaria has its own!
The final leg takes us up into the mountains one last time, setting the stage for the grand finale: a winding descent down the sun-drenched southern slopes. The golden sands of the Maspalomas Dunes emerge in the distance, signaling the end of another incredible day. This last stretch is pure riding bliss, a combination of tight corners and open bends that perfectly encapsulates the joy of the journey. Time for a well-deserved rest before Day 4's grand finale.
The Grand Finale - 32 Hairpins & The Sky-High Village
Gear up for the ride of a lifetime on this final day of Pic y Poc's 4-day tour, designed to showcase the wildest and most exhilarating roads Gran Canaria has to offer.
We start by throttling along the southern coast, where smooth tarmac invites you to lean into the curves and open up the throttle. The crisp ocean breeze and stunning views are merely a prelude to the main event.
We carve our way west, retracing a familiar stretch through the winding roads of Mogán and Aldea de San Nicolás. But this time, at a crucial junction, we take a right where we went left on Day 1—and the adventure transforms.
This is where the ride intensifies. The road demands your focus with a thrilling combination of tight hairpins, sweeping curves and dramatic elevation changes that will test your skill and leave you breathless. Then comes the iconic stretch: a relentless series of over 32 hairpins compressed into a dizzying 10-minute climb. The feeling is one of raw, untouched wilderness. You’ll recognize these magical views—they were chosen as a filming location for Fast & Furious 6. If this road was worthy of Hollywood's elite, we're confident you'll find every second of it utterly unforgettable.
Roaring into Artenara, the highest inhabited village on the island, you’re rewarded with a panoramic vista that makes every twist of the climb worthwhile. Here, you truly feel on top of the world, with the island's rugged beauty unfolding beneath you.
The descent is equally spectacular. We guide you down serpentine roads through the picturesque heart of the island, passing through traditional villages and lush landscapes. We then push on towards the east coast city of Telde before opting for the road less travelled.
While others take the highway, we turn off to discover the authentic character of villages like Ingenio, Agüimes and El Doctoral. This final leg offers one last glorious ocean-road run, bringing us full circle back to our starting point. And just like that, our four-day adventure concludes. But while this tour ends, the journey doesn't have to. This is the perfect moment to start planning your next Canary Island riding extravaganza—perhaps to explore the legendary roads of Tenerife, La Gomera, or La Palma. Ask your guide for a hint of what’s to come… it’s still under wraps, but we’re already crafting the next incredible adventure.
